Straight Talk is a service provided by TracFone Wireless Inc., and is sold in Walmart’s across the country and is available online also. Tracfone is America’s largest no-contract cell phone provider in the U.S. Straight Talk offers three monthly plans that range from $30 – $60 and also a 3 month, 6 month, and yearly plan. Straight Talk offers Unlimited talk on all plans except the “All You Need” plan where you get 1,000 minutes. Mobile Data is also unlimited all all plans except the “All You Need Plan” where you are given 30MB of data.

Cell Tower Used: Straight Talk used to offer AT&T and T-Mobile networks, but have recently dropped the AT&T network and now the only available option is T-Mobile.  If you are currently using Straight Talk with At&T you can keep using the services, but all AT&T Sim cards disappeared from the Straight Talk store. However, S.T. AT&T Sim cards are still available to purchase on Ebay when they are selling for around $50-80 each.

Data Throttled: Even though you get “Unlimited” mobile data your speeds get throttled down when you reach the 2 GB limit. Straight Talk will even send out letters to members who is using too much data and threaten to shut down their service if the high data limits continues.

Customer Service: This seems to be a trend for pre-paid carriers. Straight Talks customer service can use improvement. According to the customer service Score Board they are not doing too well with their customers. Straight Talk Customer Service Reviews

    Customer service at Straight Talk is terrible. The attendants are polite, but very limited on the help they can offer in a problem situation. Twice I have had a problem they can not help resolve. One attendant even said they have a script to follow and that there were no supervisors or management I could be forwarded to. Yes their price is good compared to other carriers, but that’s only good if you don’t have a problem. I would caution everyone to think twice.

    I guess you get what you pay for especially when it comes to getting a phone a Walmart. My cousins kids use straight talk and they are always complaining about the customer service. I agree with Harold you watch out before you go with straight talk.

    To me Customer service is so important and necessary to having a company I like and trust. If they can get any customer service I will give them shot.
